St. Nicks Alliance, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit organization is offering FREE green job training programs. We are currently recruiting for our WorkAdvance Commercial Driver’s License, Class B program. This is a FREE training! Employment assistance is available upon training completion.
Commercial Drivers License, Class B- Truck Program description
Students will take an 8-12week daytime course to obtain their CDL, Class B with HAZMAT endorsement. Students will get hands-on lessons learning air brakes, vehicle control, pre trip inspections, just to begin with. Job readiness and life skills courses prepare them for a growing industry as a professional truck driver. This course is NOT intended for those who wish to drive a school bus or Access-a-ride vehicles.
Program Requirements
At least 3 years with a NYS drivers license
At least 21 years old
No more than 2 points, 1 violation/conviction ON paper abstract
Must be able to PASS fingerprinting and background check to obtain HAZMAT endorsement
Must have recent NYS Driving abstract (must be within the last 30 days) at registration time
HS Diploma/GED
Pass a reading & math test
Must have at least 2 years professional driving experience (i.e. delivery/warehouse driver, taxi driver, driving responsibilities with previous employment, military driving experience, etc. . .)
Anyone interested in attending a walk-in orientation must come with a
valid NYS DMV license,
Social Security card,
proof of address and
NYS Driving abstract.
Please be professionally dressed to attend-no jeans or sneakers. Please expect to stay until 3pm, if you are interested in starting the program immediately.
Additional CDL orientations are held every Friday at 10am as well.
Come get a jump start in the green industry and upgrade your skills.

I called this morning after receiving this email and received a quote on the 50,000 mile rated Doral tires for our 2010 Prius at $ 305 + tax for 4.
